Hourly Rate: $16.00
Hours Per Week: 31.5
Monday-Friday: 9:00am-5:00pm; (From July 1 to Sept 7 Friday hours: 9:00am-12:30pm)
Eligibility Requirements:
Funding for the position is provided by United Way Peterborough & District as well as Canada Summer Jobs. Participants must be
- Between 15-30 years of age
- A Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred
- Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
Position Summary:
The Communications and Social Media Administrative Assistant supports the work of staff and volunteers at United Way Peterborough & District in a position that requires the ability to manage multiple clerical, communications and organizational tasks discreetly, accurately and promptly while maintaining a focus on the mission of the organization at all times.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Plan, create and schedule social media communications
- Assist in managing and updating website content
- Responsible for social media calendar updates and performance tracking
- Assist with the planning and implementation of virtual events/programs that will take place during the duration of the contract
- Assist with mailings/RSVP lists for events, and meetings
- Attend virtual staff/department meetings (via zoom)
- Daily check in with department members
- Other duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities Required:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter
- Show initiative and enthusiasm for creating engaging content that shares the work of UWP with our community
- Proven ability to speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate tools and techniques
- Excellent time-management skills with the ability to multi-task
- Able to exercise good judgment, diplomacy, tact, and courtesy to determine the appropriate course of action
- Works cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions
- Ability to work independently and as a team with strong organizational skills
Working Conditions / Physical Environment:
- Work is completed in an environmentally controlled office building between the hours of 9:00a.m. and 5:00p.m., Mondays to Fridays; (From July 1 to Sept 7 Friday hours will be: 9:00am-12:30pm).
- Two paid 15-minute break periods are provided with one-hour unpaid lunch break.
*Our office will be undergoing construction, (dates TBD) which will require the successful applicant to work remotely
