Leadership Giving

Every United Way contribution is a personal commitment to helping others and building a stronger community. Leadership giving demonstrates strong community support, loving compassion and generosity from the heart. Leadership gifts are an inspiration for others to support United Way.

Your Leadership donation of $1200 or more to United Way is an investment that improves the lives of people in need – building a stronger community for everyone.

We recognize Leadership gifts at four levels: Leaders ($1,200 – $1,499), Builders ($1,500 – $2,499) Patrons ($2,500 – $4,999) and Pathfinders ($5,000 +)

Endowment Fund

United Way’s Endowment Fund provides the ideal vehicle for you to give back to your community and ensures your generosity will continue long after your lifetime. A planned gift to United Way is a thoughtful commitment to the future. Please contact us for more information

Gifts of Securities

By donating publicly traded shares to United Way Peterborough & District, you will not pay the capital gains tax normally associated with such a sale. This means you receive a tax receipt for the full value of the shares but are NOT taxed on any gain. Donors of securities therefore do not need to take any capital gain into income.
Your charitable receipt will reflect the closing price of the shares on the date they are received in United Way’s brokerage account.
Note: Actual shares must be transferred to United Way. If shares are sold and then the proceeds donated to United Way, the enhanced tax benefits do not apply.

For more information, please contact our office: 705.742.8839.
