November 1 – 30, 2025

Peterborough & County’s Inaugural United Way Ultimate Burger Battle

What is the United Way Ultimate Burger Battle?

The Ultimate Burger Battle is our month-long celebration of local flavours, community spirit, and giving. Participating restaurants will create signature ultimate burgers, and a portion of each sale helps support United Way’s initiatives across Peterborough and District.

The funds raised will go directly to supporting the 20+ non-profit agencies that the United Way Peterborough and District funds, addressing social issues like food insecurity, poverty alleviation and literacy. These dollars will contribute to the United Way’s goal of “building community and changing lives” through their 2025-26 Community Campaign.

How It Works:

  1. Restaurants get involved
Local restaurants sign up to create a unique “Ultimate Burger” – a burger special just for the campaign.
  2. You and our Burger Ambassadors taste, vote & share
Visit participating restaurants over the campaign period, order their burger, snap a photo, and share it with #UltimateBurgerBattle #UWPUBB. Don’t forget to vote online for your favourite!
  3. Funds flow to impact
For each burger sold, $2 is donated back to support United Way’s programs.
Restaurants also compete for awards: People’s Choice, Most Burgers Sold, and, of course, the Ultimate Burger of the Year!

Every Bite Gives Back – Cast Your People’s Choice Votes Now!

Public voting for the Ultimate Burger Battle People’s Choice Awards is open November 1-30 2025!

Outside of work, Paul is on a sincere but woefully futile quest to own every postage stamp ever issued and is a rabid reader of history – Paul claims to know who killed JFK, but can’t say who out of fear for the safety of his oh so supportive wife Mary, his three wonderful kids and his four spirited grandchildren. Paul counts among his passions Peterborough’s rich live music scene, the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays, playing slo-pitch, and retrieving golf balls from the woods.
