What A Night of Celebration

On Thursday, May 30th, we celebrated 20 remarkable women making a significant impact in our community at the inaugural Women of Impact Awards. The event, held at the picturesque Farmhill Weddings in Keene and presented by TD Bank Group, welcomed 200 attendees eager to honor these exceptional women. The love and support in the room were palpable, with husbands supporting wives, daughters supporting mothers, mothers supporting daughters, and family and friends joining in the celebration.

The evening featured musical performances by violinist Victoria Yeh and the Peterborough Pop Ensemble. Guests also heard inspiring words from Maryam Monsef, Inaugural Women United Peterborough Chair, Kellie Walden, Director of Administrative Services at the Peterborough Child and Family Centre, Brittany McMillan, Executive Director of the Kawartha Sexual Assault Centre, and Shirley Turner, Committee Chair, Women United Peterborough.

United Way Peterborough & District couldn't make important investments and produce vital community research without the generous support of donors, corporate partners and partner agencies. We'd like to extend our thanks to TD Bank Group, Kawartha Now, Fox Law, Electric City Real Estate, Trent University, the Trent University Faculty Association, 2032 Dentistry for Life and Victoria Yeh.  We would also like to thank Catherine Hanarhan, the emcee for the evening and the tireless work of the Women United Committee members, who helped create such an inspiring event.
