Did you know half of the world's population is under 30, according to the United Nations? In Canada, youth represent 35% of people. Despite this, when it comes to discussing issues that matter to this population, young voices are often dismissed or denied.

On August 12, we mark International Youth Day to spotlight youth issues and honour their full potential. Let's champion youth leadership and amplify their voices every day.

Our 2025 Campaign Chair Paul Rellinger is such a good sport, he lets us scare him for a good cause!
All jokes aside, this HUGE donation box will be @kawartha.downs Kids Night THIS SATURDAY at 6:00PM! Can our amazing community help FILL IT with school supplies for local students ✂️📚✏️?
Last year we distributed almost 500 backpacks stocked with age-appropriate school supplies to set local students up for success. This year, we’re aiming even higher!
There will be no scares on Saturday - just fun, family and giving back🎒!

What better day to announce the exceptional change-makers and community builders behind our 2025 campaign than #ThankYouThursday! Meet the 2025 United Way Peterborough & District Campaign Cabinet.
This incredible group is stepping up to help us build a stronger and more connected community. Their passion, expertise and leadership will help drive real impact where it’s needed most.
We are so grateful for the energy, ideas and heart that they bring to the table and we can’t wait to see what we accomplish together this year!

Over a month ago, the amazing team at Scotiabank rolled up their sleeves to build handcrafted, solid wood garden boxes with Councillor Dugay for Day of Caring 2025. These boxes were sold to support local United Way initiatives, and Scotiabank generously offered to match the funds raised through sales!
This morning, we were thrilled to receive a cheque from the Scotiabank team in support of our ongoing community programs. Thank you for being champions of change and demonstrating how generosity in action can grow beyond just one day.

School is about to be back in session and we have a pop quiz!

Do you know how many school aged students in the Peterborough community live in poverty?
✅ Answer: 2,895

Help us give these students the tools for success this school year when you donate to our Backpacks for Success campaign. We believe every child deserves a quality education and part of that includes equal access to essential school supplies.

Right now, we’re asking for a little extra help from our generous community so we can purchase higher cost items like calculators and math kits. No matter the size of your donation, $5 or $50, you can be sure it makes a BIG difference to a child in need.
