Join Our Finance Committee

At United Way Peterborough & District, we believe that strong financial stewardship is the foundation of impactful community work. We are currently seeking dedicated and experienced individuals to join our Finance Committee—a vital group that supports our Board of Directors in overseeing the financial health and sustainability of our organization.

What Does the Finance Committee Do?

Finance Committee members play an essential advisory role, offering oversight and guidance on a range of financial matters. This is not a fundraising role—it’s about governance, accountability, and strategic insight. Committee members:
  • Provide oversight of our Investment Policy
  • Review and assess the annual budget
  • Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place
  • Support the annual audit process
  • Review financial policies and procedures
  • Act as a resource to staff when financial guidance is needed
You’ll be working alongside a team of Finance Officers and supporting our Senior Director of Operations & Revenue Generation, contributing your expertise to help us make informed, responsible decisions that benefit our entire community. Why Join?

By joining the Finance Committee, you’ll be part of a passionate team committed to making a difference  throughout the City and County of Peterborough. Your insights will help ensure that every dollar entrusted to United Way is used effectively and transparently to support local programs and initiatives.
