Peterborough & District, you came together and made Backpacks for Success 2025 the best year yet! Because of your support, 457 students will receive the essential school supplies they need to learn and grow this year.

So once again, thank you to our volunteers, donors, and all those who contributed to this year’s event!

Backpacks for Success wrapped up yesterday and it’s truly been our best year yet, thanks to the generosity of our community and our incredible sponsors: @swish_ca, @igwealthmanagement and @autoconnectsales ! 🙌

Forty volunteers from Swish, TVLA, Kawartha Credit Union, IG Wealth Management, Shorelines Casino, RBC and Peterborough County, spent the day at Calvary Pentecostal Church filling backpacks for our team to distribute. These organizations not only ran donation drives but they also took time out of their busy schedules to help us pack all 457 backpacks for students in our community.🎒🤝

We are so grateful to these volunteers and to our donors from Cavan Monaghan Libraries, Otonabee South Monaghan Libraries, Peterborough Child and Family Centres, Gerri’s Arts & Crafts, Kawartha Downs, Brant Basics, Boston Pizza Peterborough, the MNR, Neo Performance Materials, and Auto Connect for collecting these essential supplies and their continued support.

457 students across our district now have school supplies because of you Peterborough! As we prepare for our Campaign Launch this September, we can’t wait to see how we can continue building community.💫

Last night, United Way Peterborough & District had the pleasure of hosting our 83rd Annual General Meeting. 💫

As a group, we reflected on the many accomplishments of our 2024-2025 campaign year and debuted our official Annual Impact Report. Together, we celebrated one of our longtime volunteers, Mohamed Farah, for his ongoing support and commitment to the people of Peterborough and surrounding areas. His positive outlook is truly an inspiration to everyone he meets!

We also had the privilege to hear from recipients of the Neighbourhood Fund. These groups shared their missions in our community and how they planned to create positive change with the grants they received.

It was truly an evening of learning, celebration, and renewed motivation to continue building community throughout 2025-2026.

All jokes aside, this HUGE donation box will be @kawartha.downs Kids Night THIS SATURDAY at 6:00PM! Can our amazing community help FILL IT with school supplies for local students ✂️📚✏️?
Last year we distributed almost 500 backpacks stocked with age-appropriate school supplies to set local students up for success. This year, we’re aiming even higher!
There will be no scares on Saturday - just fun, family and giving back🎒!
