Facilitators
Do You Have What It Takes? We are currently recruiting new volunteer facilitators to work with boards, staff and volunteers to develop skills and knowledge needed to become effective and responsible leaders. Volunteer facilitators are recruited from various professional fields and are required to complete a rigorous training program. To share your skills and lend your expertise to the non-profit sector check out our application form and position description.
United Way of Peterborough & District's training and consulting services are facilitated by an experienced team of volunteer professionals.
All facilitators are experienced in adult education and are experts in their field.

Cora Whittington is the founder of Golden Pathways, one of the most unique and growing businesses in the Peterborough area.
Cora is a coach, facilitator and teacher – as well as an entrepreneur. She is a leading authority on identifying and eliminating
barriers and is a certified Core Dynamics Coach. Cora's positive approach touches everyone she works with and her caring,
yet professional nature offers a style that speaks to learners. Areas of expertise: visioning, strategic planning, goal setting, coaching, and leadership.
Dawn possess in-depth experience working and volunteering within the non-profit sector. She has held key positions with non-profit agencies including:
St. Joseph’s at Fleming; VON; Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Council; City of Peterborough; and Peterborough Social Planning Council.
Dawn is an active volunteer, lending her expertise to a wide variety of local non-profit agencies. Areas of expertise: community capacity building,
social planning, research, volunteer management, Board development and change facilitation.
Lisa is Director of Community Leadership & Learning Services with United Way of Peterborough & District. Lisa holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and
Certificate in Human Resource Management. She has worked in the non-profit sector for nine years. Lisa volunteers with numerous local agencies and serves
on several community advisory committees. Areas of expertise: strategic planning, curriculum and training design, facilitation, board governance,
Appreciative Inquiry, Outcome Measurement, Open Space program management, and organizational development.
Pat Hooper has held positions such as Executive Director of St. Joseph’s Care Foundation, Manager of Organizational Development at Peterborough Regional Health Centre,
and Director of Health Records/Admitting/Quality Assurance at St. Joseph’s Health Centre. Pat has extensive volunteer experience in the non-profit sector
holding a variety of executive level board positions. Areas of expertise: Appreciative Inquiry, Board Governance, True Colours, strategic planning, change management,
organizational development and teambuilding, and fund development.
Greg is the former Senior Research Consultant and founding partner of Applied Information Associates. Greg is an experienced business manager with considerable
expertise in marketing, audience survey and questionnaire design as well as data analysis. Areas of expertise: board governance, research design and implementation,
outcome measurement, and policy design.
Jill is a learning and development consultant with the Ministry of Natural Resources. Jill has facilitated multi-stakeholder groups, task teams and training programs.
She has also developed and designed training programs for teachers, community colleges, trainers and MNR Staff. Areas of expertise: curriculum design, strategic planning,
facilitation, project management, issues management, and board governance.
