Agency Description: Enables residents to improve their health, safety, and quality of life by providing training and community service. Each year thousands of local residents are trained in essential lifesaving skills through First Aid, CPR, and babysitting courses. CPR and emergency First Aid assistance is provided for up to 100 annual community events. Provides direct assistance to community during emergencies and disasters. Visits dozens of Peterborough and area elementary schools annually providing lifesaving lessons in First Aid, CPR, and general safety information. Sells a variety of first aid kits and supplies for workplace or home.
Number Who Benefit Annually: 20,000 school children in the free school program; 500 youth in the babysitting program; 5,000 people in First Aid/CPR courses; all residents of Peterborough area from St. John Ambulance's community services.
