Agency Description: Provides individual, family and group counselling for youth 10 to 18 years of age who are struggling with social and emotional difficulties such as the trauma of abuse, parent/child conflict, family breakdown, conflict with the law, and others. Outreach services including advocacy, mediation, problem solving, and crisis resolution and other supports are available in the community and through both the public and separate school systems to help youth with a variety of immediate needs. Relapse prevention counselling and programs are provided for high-risk offenders between the ages of 12 and their 19th birthday. PYS also operates a crisis response program in collaboration with Four County Crisis (Community Mental Health Crisis Response Program) and Peterborough Regional Health Centre.
